The Tooth Extraction Process

The tooth extraction process will be clearly explained by your dentist prior to starting treatment. For extractions, your dentist will begin the procedure by giving you a local anesthetic. Once the area is numb, they will use appropriate instruments to remove the tooth or teeth as gently as possible.

Care After an Extraction

You may feel some discomfort after the extraction, but these symptoms usually disappear after a day or two. It is best to eat only soft foods for a few days to reduce any pressure on the extraction site, and we recommend limiting any strenuous physical activity for several days after the procedure. Detailed written instructions are provided, and you will have the ability to reach the dentist in off hours with any concerns or questions.
