Dental Hygiene Appointments
Debris and bacteria that become trapped between the teeth and gums begin to harden over time. When left untreated, this hardened calculus (tartar) can affect the integrity of your teeth and gums, causing gum disease and cavities. A regular dental hygiene routine is essential for maintaining your oral health, which is why we recommend booking an appointment with one of our dental hygienists based on your needs.
Root Canals
Tooth infections can occur when bacteria in your mouth enter deep into a tooth (dental pulp) through cavities or cracks in the hard outer surface of the tooth. The bacteria cause an infection within the tooth, resulting in pain and other symptoms. If you are suffering from a tooth infection, your dentist may recommend a root canal to treat the infection and restore the health of your tooth.
Dental Sealants
If you are prone to cavities or looking for a preventative measure to prevent tooth decay, talk to your dentist about dental sealants. Dental sealants are a thin plastic coating that is painted onto the chewing surface of the tooth. Sealants help prevent cavities caused by bacteria getting trapped in the small grooves of the teeth and are recommended for children and adults.
Teeth Extractions
At Muntwyler Dentistry, we practice preventative dentistry to maintain the health of your natural teeth. However, there may be situations when your natural tooth cannot be saved, and your dentist will recommend an extraction.
Dental X-Rays
While your dentist can assess your oral health by visually examining your teeth and gums, dental X-rays provide information the dentist cannot see visually revealing the presence of cavities, infection, gum disease and cysts and tumors of the jaws. Digital X-rays provide detailed images of the teeth and assist with the early detection of dental conditions many of which can be painless until they are quite advanced. Digital x-rays provide a safe and effective modern way of diagnosing oral disease.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer is a serious condition, and early detection is key to treatment. A thorough oral examination is imperative to preserving your oral health, which is why we recommend visiting your dentist for regular examinations to assess the health of your gums and identify abnormalities of the bone and soft tissues of your mouth.
